A FREE Class with Austin Phillips, Ardent Custom Fitness
Master this powerful move
Whether you want greater ease getting off a chair or are going for a new personal best on a back squat, knowing squat fundamentals will help. In this FREE class, Ardent Custom Fitness' Austin Phillips breaks down the squat. He'll explain the muscle groups you can activate through this simple and effective move. He'll also demonstrate proper form and show you how you can build on the basic box squat to turn this into a full-body strengthening exercise, essential for longevity and safety.
This class will be offered in the Co-op Community Room.
- The Community Room is located in the southeast corner of the Brio Building.
- You can reach the Community Room by walking into the Co-op, through the Produce Aisle and turning down the hallway to the right. (Complete directions will be provided in your RSVP confirmation email.)
- The room features floor-to-ceiling windows, with views of Jackson Street to the Riverwalk. It is a comfortable space, bathed in natural light, making it a perfect place for trying a new class.
- Four family-style bathrooms are located conveniently nearby.

About the Class Leader
Austin Phillips, CF-L2, USAW L1, is studying to earn his Master of Science in Biological Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (Spring '24). He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University. The owner of Ardent Custom Fitness, he is a CrossFit Levels 1 and 2 trainer and holds credentials in USA Weightlifting Level 1, CrossFit Strongman, CrossFit Football, CrossFit Weightlifting, OPEX Assessment and Design and CPR/AED.
