Oshkosh Food Co-op to Host Job Fairs May 26, June 2, June 5

(Oshkosh, Wis.) – The Oshkosh Food Co-op, a community-owned grocery store slated to open late summer/early fall 2021, will host hiring events May 26 and June 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; also Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The hiring events will be held at the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, 120 Jackson Street, Oshkosh – which is located across the street from the food co-op store being constructed on the first floor of the Brio Building.

Among the positions being sought:

  • Produce Manger, a full-time position, will be in charge of planning, management, and day-to-day operations of the co-op’s produce department, as well as maintaining strong relationships with produce partners who supply the store from within a100-miles radius and within the state of Wisconsin. One to three years’ previous work as a manager/supervisor in retail grocery sales is required.  Food co-op work experience and knowledge of the local grocery market are pluses.
  • Front-end Manager, a full-time position, will supervise cashiers and other floor staff, be responsible for excellent customer service and meeting co-op goals for customer programs. Planning, assisting the General Manager, staffing, training, and meeting labor and productivity targets are important for success in this role.  One to three years of grocery experience are required. 
  • 20 to 25 full and part-time positions are also available to qualified applicants. These positions will be in deli, produce, receiving; plus cashiers, stockers, and supervisors and will start close to store-opening.
